Facility Policy Advance Directives
We look forward to your upcoming visit at Texas Health Women’s Specialty Surgery Center Dallas. It is the policy of the facility to notify you of the following facility policy regarding Advance Directives. Facility policy regarding Advance Directives includes the following:
- You have the right to make choices regarding life-sustaining treatment, including resuscitative measures. Texas Health Women’s Specialty Surgery Center Dallas requests that if you have an Advanced Directive/Living Will/Healthcare Proxy, please bring a copy with you so we may place it in your medical record if needed.
- WSSC will always honor the intent of the document to the extent permitted by law and subject to WSSC’s limitations on the basis of conscience. WSSC performs elective procedures that generally enhance or improve the patient’s quality of life, therefore; in the event of a medical emergency, it is the policy of WSSC to always attempt to resuscitate a patient and transfer that patient to a hospital. This policy applies to all patients having a procedure at WSSC.
- Should there be a need to transfer you to a hospital for additional care measures beyond what the ambulatory facility can provide, your Advance Directive/Living Will/Healthcare Proxy will be honored at the receiving hospital upon your arrival.
